If you've imported some video footage into iMovie, but want to use the sound elsewhere, like in GarageBand, you're going to have to detach the audio from the video. This tutorial will show you how to remove the audio from an video clip in iMovie in Mac OS X. Detaching audio is very simple, so don't worry!

Hey,
I'm working with imovie 11,
After I detach the audio, how can I delete the video, and put the audio when just presenting a still picture?
When I choose only the video and delete, both audio and video are deleted...
I am needing to slow down a video in iMovie, but how do I keep the voice normal?.. HELP..thnx
When your making a movie trailer in iMovie, it gives you the scenes where a video should be played, and I was wondering how you can delete a scene that you don't have a video for. I have tried all the ways that I know of, so please help. Question: how you delete a scene that you don't have a video for?
HI,
I'm finishing an iMovie edit (for the first time:) and just need to import music from an existing MP4 video I made to use as background music. It seems pretty simple - I dragged the clip onto the edit timeline and was prompted to add music only. I did this and I can see the clip below the video image highlighted in green. But when I play it I can't hear the music soundtrack at all.
I'm sure this must be a simple resolve but not having any luck so far. Any advice?
Thanks
I would like to be able to detach the audio as a wav file so that I can work on it in sound forge. How do I do that? Thanks!
Hey,
I was wondering if there's any way to cut music from a video without cutting any of the talking audio?
Would be a great help as I need to find this out for my Dissertation.
Thanks,
Lee

Hi, I would like to use only the track sound from a video interview that I shot with my iPhone to be able to edit it on images. Is it possible to do that with iMovie? Thank you.
